Why we’re shouting about International Women’s Day! #BeBoldForChange
At Iken we are proud to have a near 50/50 split of male and female employees, with many of our women holding senior positions department wide throughout the business. Something that is not as common as it could be for tech companies nationwide – however with so many great initiatives like Women Who Code, Geek Girl Meetup and influencers like Karly Kloss encouraging young women to get into STEM we are seeing huge improvements.
Our HR Manager, Harriet Martin Assoc CIPD said –
“…one of the most refreshing things about working for Iken is the diverse team we have; 4 of our 7 strong Senior Management Team are women and most of whom were promoted into Senior positions from within the business. We have close to a 50/50 split of women to men across the company. I love working in a company which so readily accepts and encourages diversity and all the creativity, positivity and innovation that accompany it…”
We encourage and support our female (and male!) employees to strive to be the best that they can be and to push boundaries through personal and professional development. Iken's COO, Tanya Corise is heavily involved in continuous development of all Iken employees, offering advice and encouragement but also a great example of acheivement and progression since joining the business in 2004 (great write up from The Glass Lift)!
Our core company values of being: Inquisitive, Brave, Tenacious and Warm Hearted; strongly support the ten International Women's Day values of:
International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. www.internationalwomensday.com
